Volunteers founded Center for Hope & Safety (formerly Shelter Our Sisters) over 40 years ago and play a vital role in caring for those affected by domestic violence. 

Thanksgiving Meal Distribution

Monday, Nov. 23 at the CHS Community Center. Shifts: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. | 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. | 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

To help with Thanksgiving meal distribution, we will need help sorting turkeys, sides, and other Thanksgiving meal necessities. In addition, we will need help creating bags and distributing those bags to clients.

Holiday Gift Preparation

Monday, Dec. 14 to Tuesday, Dec. 22 at the CHS Community Center. Shifts: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. | 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

We are looking for individuals to assist with preparing gifts for our clients this holiday season. This may include organizing holiday gifts, making gift bags, and/or other tasks.

 Community Thrift Shop, Midland Park

Tuesday, Jan. 19 at the Community Thrift Shop, Midland Park. Shifts: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. | 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Every year, we need to staff our partner, the Community Thrift Shop in Midland Park. We have been assigned Tuesday, January 19. The shifts are two hours in length. The type of work you will be doing is tagging items or hanging garments.
