2026 Evening of Hope Honoree – Corporate Impact Award

Family-owned and operated for four generations, Inserra Supermarkets has been rooted in the community since 1954. The company, which was founded in Lyndhurst by Antoinette and Patsy Inserra, is one of the largest family-owned and operated supermarket chains in the metropolitan area. Under the entrepreneurial leadership of the late Lawrence Inserra, Inserra Supermarkets grew to include 23 ShopRite Supermarkets, two Price Rite Markets, and one Fresh Grocer Market across Bergen, Hudson, and Passaic Counties in New Jersey and Rockland County in New York. And every succeeding generation has built upon Patsy Inserra’s vision of providing the highest quality products at the most reasonable prices.

“Proud to be a family business serving families,” chairman and CEO Lawrence Inserra, Jr. and the Inserra family are also continuing to carry on a long tradition of supporting the communities served by their stores—and lending a helping hand to those in need. As the company has grown, they have expanded community partnerships and provided funding and support to hundreds of charitable and local organizations, including hospitals, schools, community wellness programs, and civic and veterans groups. Established in 1986, the Inserra Family Foundation has proudly supported national and local organizations that are making a difference.
Center for Hope & Safety is fortunate to be one of those organizations.
Since 1999, Center for Hope & Safety has been the grateful recipient of philanthropic support from Inserra Supermarkets. Year after year, their support has included sponsoring annual fundraising, friend-raising, and awareness-raising events such as our Evening of Hope, Golf Classic, and WALK TOGETHER Against Domestic Violence. In addition, the Inserra family’s gift to our 2014 Capital Campaign was instrumental in helping us reach our goal of purchasing the building that is now our Community Center in Rochelle Park.
We are thrilled to present our 2026 Corporate Impact Award to the Inserra Family in recognition of their generous support, longstanding commitment, and the profound impact they have had on our agency’s ability to turn fear into safety, helplessness into strength, and isolation into hope.
