As I wrap up my first few weeks as CEO of Center for Hope & Safety, I want to take a moment to reflect on all that I have learned—and on the warm welcome I have received from this community.
Since stepping into this role, I have had the privilege of meeting CHS staff members, touring programs and facilities, and learning more about the extraordinary work this organization accomplishes each day. I am honored to join such an exceptional team supporting adults and children impacted by domestic violence throughout Bergen County.
One thing has become extraordinarily clear: the support of our greater community has played a critical role in Center for Hope & Safety’s success. The individuals who contribute financially, donate goods and services, attend and sponsor events, volunteer their time, and share our mission with others have helped make it possible for CHS to provide crucial services to survivors for five decades. I am honored to join this organization during its 50th anniversary year and look forward to building on this strong foundation by strengthening our community partnerships, expanding awareness of the resources available to survivors, and ensuring that Center for Hope & Safety continues to evolve in response to the needs of those we serve.
I look forward to meeting many of you during our October Domestic Violence Awareness Month events, including our Candlelight Vigil on October 6, the Art of Survival Reception on October 13, and our Walk TOGETHER to End Domestic Violence on October 24.
