Center for Hope & Safety’s The Art of Survival is celebrating ten years! The program gives Bergen County survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault the opportunity to express the trauma of abuse through visual art.

Not only do survivors learn artistic skills, but they also have a safe space to share and bond with one another, both offering and receiving support.

Marta Levy, Center for Hope & Safety’s Director of the Children’s Program and Creative Arts Therapist, leads The Art of Survival program. She recently received a Certificate of Commendation from Cynthia Forster, Director of the Bergen County Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs.

The Art of Survival is made possible by a grant administered by the Bergen County Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs from funds of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
